Here are some of my favorite tips that have particularly helped me in my skincare journey.
Always make sure to wash your face twice for 1 minute each. Washing is one of the most important parts.
Then use your toner(s). I recommend having a rice water toner, and a hyaluronic toner. See below some good recommendations:

The trick with toners is not just using them to wipe your face, but soaking your face with them repeatedly for a few minutes, until skin is soft to the touch.
This prepares your skin to ABSORB your skin creams and oils. Have fun with it. Splash them on like a face wash commercial.

1. Chemical Exfoliants:
Chemical exfoliants use active ingredients that dissolve or break down the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to shed naturally. They are great for providing an even exfoliation without manual scrubbing, making them ideal for sensitive skin types.Types of Chemical Exfoliants:
- AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids): Derived from fruits and milk, AHAs (like glycolic acid and lactic acid) are water-soluble and work well for dry, sun-damaged skin. They exfoliate the surface layer, improving texture and reducing fine lines.
- BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids): The most common BHA is salicylic acid, which is oil-soluble, making it excellent for oily, acne-prone skin. It penetrates deep into pores, clearing out oil and dirt.
- PHAs (Poly Hydroxy Acids): A milder alternative to AHAs, PHAs (like gluconolactone) are suitable for sensitive skin. They work on the skin’s surface, gently exfoliating without causing irritation.
- For sensitive skin: 1-2 times a week to prevent over-exfoliation and irritation.
- For normal to combination skin: 2-3 times a week.

- No manual scrubbing means less chance of micro-tears in the skin.
- More consistent and even exfoliation.

- For normal to combination skin: 1-2 times a week.
- For oily or non-sensitive skin: 2-3 times a week, but be cautious to avoid irritation.
- Provides instant results—skin feels smoother immediately after use.
- Great for rough areas on the body (elbows, knees).
- You can control the pressure during application, making it customizable.
When to Choose Chemical vs. Physical Exfoliants:
- For sensitive or acne-prone skin, chemical exfoliants are usually the better choice since they’re less abrasive and can target specific concerns like breakouts or uneven tone.
- For body exfoliation, physical exfoliants or tools are great for areas like the elbows, knees, or feet, where skin tends to be tougher.
- For mature skin, chemical exfoliants, especially AHAs, are preferred as they help with fine lines and skin texture without the risk of pulling or tugging.
RED LIGHT THERAPY:
